Online Applications for NSYSU 2025–2026 Academic Year Parking Permits Are Now Open

Faculty, staff, and students may now apply online for National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) 2025–2026 Academic Year Parking Permits. Please complete permit collection by October 31, 2025, and display the permit in accordance with University regulations.

1. General Information

To maintain campus safety and traffic management, all vehicles parked on campus must either:

  • Obtain a valid parking permit for the current academic year; or
  • Park in the designated Visitor Parking Lot.
  1. The 2025–2026 Academic Year Parking Permit is valid through October 31, 2026.
  2. Applicants who have already obtained a Two-Year Motorcycle Parking Permit (2024–2026 Academic Years) should not submit another application.
  3. Any outstanding parking fees or traffic violation fines must be fully settled before applying for a parking permit.

2. Parking Permit Fees

Parking permit fees are charged on a full academic-year basis. Once payment has been made and the permit has been issued, no refunds will be provided. Applications submitted during the semester are also charged at the full academic-year rate.

(1) Automobiles (including heavy motorcycles)

  1. Full-time faculty and staff
    • First vehicle: NT$1,000
    • Second vehicle: NT$1,500
  2. Retired Professors Emeriti
    • First vehicle: Free
    • Second vehicle: NT$1,500
  3. Contract personnel in the College of Liberal Arts or College of Marine Sciences, pregnant employees, and staff whose children attend the NSYSU Affiliated Preschool
    • NT$1,000
  4. Contract employees and students
    • NT$600 per academic year
    • Parking is limited to the Seawall Parking Lot.
  5. Executive Master of Public Policy (EMPP) and Executive MBA (EMBA) students
    • NT$2,000 per academic year
    • Vehicles may park in the academic area on weekends only; weekday parking is restricted to the Seawall Parking Lot.
  6. Visitors, contractors, and Continuing Education Program participants
    • Three months: NT$600
    • Six months: NT$1,000
    • One year: NT$1,500
    • Parking is limited to the Seawall Parking Lot.

(2) Motorcycles, electric motorcycles, and electric micro-mobility vehicles

  1. Faculty, staff, and students
    • NT$300 per academic year
  2. Contractors and Continuing Education Program participants
    • NT$400 per academic year

(3) Applicants with a valid disability certificate

Parking permits for both automobiles and motorcycles are free of charge.


3. Online Application

  1. Individuals with access to the University's Single Sign-On (SSO) or Course Registration System should apply through the Online Parking Permit Application System:

  2. During peak processing periods, permit approval and issuance may require approximately 15 working days (Monday through Friday, excluding holidays). Applicants are advised to apply well in advance and monitor their application status regularly.

    Payment may only be made after the system status changes to "Ready for Issuance." Please retain your payment receipt for future reference.

4. Paper Applications

Units unable to use the online application system should complete the paper application form, attach the required supporting documents, and submit them in person to the Vehicle Management Committee Office.


5. Vehicles Without a Valid Parking Permit

Vehicles that do not display a valid parking permit for the current academic year (including vehicles that have not completed permit replacement after changing vehicles) may only park in the Visitor Parking Lot.

  • Motorcycles: Free of charge
  • Automobiles: Parking fees will be charged according to the posted rates.

6. Temporary Parking for Visitors

Visitors, guests, and temporary contractors requiring access to the academic area must obtain a Temporary Parking Permit from the campus security checkpoint.

  • Temporary permits are valid for up to one hour.
  • Guest vehicles may apply in advance for a Guest Temporary Parking Permit:
    • Weekdays: NT$150 per day
    • Weekends: NT$90 per day

7. Parking Permit Display and Regulations

To protect users' rights and facilitate vehicle identification, parking permits must be displayed prominently on the registered vehicle.

Permit holders should carefully read:

  • the instructions printed on the back of the parking permit;
  • the NSYSU Vehicle Management Regulations and related implementation guidelines.

Parking permits are strictly prohibited from being sold, transferred, forged, or fraudulently used. Any verified violations will be handled in accordance with University regulations and applicable laws.


8. Nighttime Campus Access

To enhance campus security, external vehicles are prohibited from entering campus through the Sizihwan Main Gate between 9:00 p.m. and 4:30 a.m.

NSYSU faculty, staff, and students entering campus during these hours must display a valid parking permit for the current academic year or present a valid University identification card.


9. Typhoon and Heavy Rain Precautions

For personal safety and vehicle protection, the Seawall Parking Lot will be closed during typhoons or periods of heavy rainfall.

Vehicles already parked on campus should be moved promptly to higher and safer ground to avoid flood damage.
