Congratulations to First-Cohort Student Hsieh Yi-Hsin for Receiving the Silver Award for Curatorial Excellence at the 2025 Indigenous Cultural Museum Annual Performance Awards

The Council of Indigenous Peoples (CIP) organized the 2025 Indigenous Cultural Museum Annual Performance Awards, recognizing the efforts and achievements of Indigenous cultural museums across Taiwan in promoting cultural affairs. The awards honor museums and cultural professionals who have demonstrated outstanding performance in cultural preservation, museum management, and community engagement. Through this event, cultural museums and their dedicated teams from across Taiwan gathered to celebrate their remarkable achievements and memorable moments throughout the year.

Among the award recipients, Hsieh Yi-Hsin (Pali hlatiurana, Hla'alua Indigenous), a student of the Executive Master's Program in Indigenous Studies, currently serves at the Kaohsiung City Taoyuan District Indigenous Cultural Museum and received the Silver Award for Curatorial Excellence, recognizing his professional contributions to museum operations and cultural promotion.

From an early age, Pali has maintained a strong interest in his own Indigenous culture and has obtained certification in the Hla'alua Indigenous language. Since January 2017, he has worked at the Kaohsiung City Taoyuan District Indigenous Cultural Museum as a curatorial planner and museum interpreter. His responsibilities include:

• Conducting artifact inventories and historical documentation;
• Maintaining and preserving cultural artifacts;
• Documenting and promoting the preservation and revitalization of tribal ceremonial music, dance, and traditional craftsmanship;
• Planning thematic exhibitions and cultural skills workshops;
• Recruiting and training local cultural tour volunteers;
• Establishing museum consultation services and developing guided tours introducing tribal natural environments and cultural resources;
• Providing museum interpretation and educational services.

Over the years, Pali has devoted himself to museum work with professionalism and passion. Through his dedication, he has not only safeguarded and transmitted the cultural heritage of his people but has also revitalized cultural assets through exhibitions, interpretation services, and community engagement, sharing Indigenous knowledge and traditions with a wider audience. His efforts have made him an important contributor to Indigenous cultural preservation and transmission.
