Congratulations to Second-Cohort Alumna Asiyan Karjang Iyung for Receiving the Excellence Award in the Gender Equality Education Teaching Practice Competition under Pingtung County’s 2025 Friendly Campus Student Affairs and Counseling Program

The Pingtung County Government organized the 2025 Friendly Campus Student Affairs and Counseling Program – Gender Equality Education Teaching Practice Competition, and Asiyan Karjang Iyung, a second-cohort alumna of the Executive Master's Program in Indigenous Studies, received the Excellence Award in recognition of her outstanding teaching practice.

Currently serving at Tjiveljevelj Bunun Indigenous Experimental Elementary School in Sandimen Township, Asiyan participated in this year's competition and was honored for her innovative and meaningful contributions to gender equality education.

After successfully passing her master's thesis oral defense at the beginning of the first semester of the 2025 academic year, Asiyan immediately devoted herself to teaching and school administration. She has continued to cultivate her work in the field of education with dedication and perseverance.

In her thesis acknowledgments, she specifically expressed gratitude to Shihmen Elementary School in Mudan Township, Pingtung County and Tjiveljevelj Elementary School, whose practices and pursuit of educational excellence provided important inspiration for her teaching practice and research reflections.

As a young member of the Saijia Community, she transforms her personal life experiences, emotional connection, and sense of responsibility toward her community into concrete actions. Beyond completing academic research, she continues to give back to her community and contribute to educational development.

Once again, congratulations to Asiyan on this remarkable achievement. The faculty and students of the Department of Sociology are deeply proud of and inspired by her dedication to education and her commitment to putting her ideals into practice.
